What is Reiki, Who can Learn it?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki does not depend on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

A recent article from the Toronto Star, 'the ICE idea', is catching on
and it is a very simple, yet important method of contact for you or a
loved one in case of an emergency.
As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you
need to do is program the number of a contact person or persons and
store the name as 'ICE'.
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to
the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients,
but they didn't know which numbers to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a
nationally recognized name to file 'next of kin' under.
Following a disaster in London . The East Anglican Ambulance Service
has launched a national 'In case of Emergency (ICE)' campaign.
The idea is that you store the word 'ICE ' in your mobile phone address
book, and with it enter the number of the person you would want to be
contacted 'In Case of Emergency '.
In an emergency situation, Emergency Services personnel and hospital
staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply
dialing the number programmed under 'ICE'.

I was flying from New York to Chicago to attend the book fair held by the American Booksellers Association. Suddenly, a young man stood up in the aisle of the plane and announced:
‘I need twelve volunteers each willing to carry a single rose when we get off the plane.’

Even so, I decided to follow the group. We landed and the young man indicated a young woman in the arrivals hall at O’Hare airport. One by one, the passengers presented their roses to her. At last, in front of everyone, the young man asked her to marry him, and she accepted.
An air steward said to me:
‘I’ve been working here for years, and that’s the most romantic thing that has ever happened in this airport.’"

What if I were to tell you that forty-five 747 Boeings filled with children crashed today?
This shocking statement thankfully is not true, but tragically, this is the equivalent of children who die every day from starvation - 18,000.
To help put an end to child poverty the GVN Foundation has launched a global fundraising campaign called 'Eat So They Can.' This is not another humanitarian campaign asking you to go without - there are already too many people suffering through want of food.
Rather, this campaign invites citizens of the world to participate in what will collectively be one huge dinner party; where something as simple as sharing a meal with friends can help stop child poverty.
On Saturday October 13 in celebration of World Food Day (October 16) the Foundation invites you to 'Eat So They Can' by hosting, or encouraging a friend to host a tasty meal. The money that each dinner party raises will be used to support our partner organizations in Kenya to help them provide orphaned children with the essentials for survival.
It promises to be a day full of chances: the chance to discuss issues facing the poorest children around the world, the chance to take action, the chance to spend time with loved ones - the chance to make a difference.
If 10 people were a global representation: 2 would eat a satisfying meal, 2 would eat beans; and 6 would stand in a food queue... In this world, no child should have to go without food. Not even one.

It is also about the mapping of our local space, thus it has a bearing upon where we chose to live, interact, invest, etc. upon the earth.
Astrology makes three distinguishing assertions:
1. It asserts that every juncture point in space and time has content, and that this content can be described qualitatively
2. It proposes that all phenomena in the universe, no matter how large or small, are somehow synchronously linked through common symbolic patterns.
3. Contrary to popular belief, many astrologers do not think that planets 'cause' anything any more than your morning clock 'causes' you to go to work. Planetary cycles are simply a mechanism to tell you 'what time it is' within your particular symbolic reality.
These are thumbnail reductions of very profound philosophical and metaphysical issues, but they are good enough for now. These three points are in flat contradiction with the current state of 'hack' science. But for those who keep up with such things, they are indeed very congruent with what is currently going on at the very leading edge of the theoretical sciences. Astrology was the first science, and it will end up being the last science. It's the only science that is inherently meaningful at all levels.
So, for example, when you see certain hack 'scientists' arguing that their current instruments cannot measure any planetary causality, they are, as usual, talking into the wind. Fortunately more and more real scientists are aware of this. "
